ni hao!
just wanted to let you know some things that are happening over here.
things are going well, overall. i'll update you in a very organized and compartmentalized way.
school:
last week we had parent teacher conferences, which is always interesting, but especially interesting here because i have never taught 6 year olds in my life, and almost slipped up and said that many times, and also because a few of the conferences were with a translator. so, it was interesting. they went so well though. i don't know how or why. but the parents were generally happy and not concerned. it was wonderful. i am so thankful.
health:
well, everything is going ok in this area except that i have been having digestion issues, like serious, basically the whole time i've been here. so, today, my roommate and i went to the hospital to see if they could tell us anything. we have a colonoscopy type procedure planned for wednesday. it's not as invasive as a normal colonoscopy, so it shouldn't be too bad. hopefully they'll be able to tell me what's wrong and what i can do to make it better.
church/ministry:
well, the actual church i attend on sunday mornings is going really well. more and more chinese people come every week it seems, so it's really cool. then on sunday nights, there is a service at another fellowship that i have been leading music at, and this past sunday, deanna and i led in a chinese song! it was so awesome. i love it. and i love that we could do it. it was amazing. there's a little video clip of it. i'll post it soon. i'm also going to the orphanage, which i am a little frustrated with because i can't communicate with them, so my new chinese teacher is going to start teaching me phrases and things to say when i am there, so i can be more involved with them. on thursdays, i go to what we call "office church". it's just a bible study at an office. it's a long story how we got to be there, but there are about 2-5 people that come on thursday nights, and 2 of them are literally on the verge of salvation. it's the coolest thing i've ever seen. they have so many questions, and they are seeking, and they want to know the truth, and they want to believe. it just takes them so much longer because they have such difficult backgrounds and families to deal with. feel free to pray for them and us.
misc:
other than that, i've gotten to know some really cool people. and am enjoying spending time with these people from all over the world.
also, i am still unsure about next year. i was pretty sure i was going to come home, but now i am very unsure, and i am looking for direction from the Lord. i would appreciate your prayers.
love you all.
peace.
